Tsoureki is a traditional Greek bread consumed usually during holidays but not only. It's a deliciously soft, gently sweet yeast bread similar to brioche but with its own distinctive flavour. It’s wonderfully enjoyed on its own when fresh or it can be cut in half, toasted and spread with Nutella, butter or any kind of tasty jam.
What is Mastiha?
Mastiha is also known as Mastic Gum. Mastic gum (Pistacia lentiscus) is a unique resin that comes from a tree grown in the Mediterranean. For centuries, the resin has been used to improve digestion, oral health, and liver health. It contains antioxidants that are said to support its therapeutic properties.
What is Mahlepi?
Mahlepi or mahlab is the aromatic spice that derives from the kernel of the black or mahaleb cherry (Prunus mahaleb). The tree is native to Asia Minor and the spice is very popular in Greece as well as Turkey.
